FUDO (2022)

FUDO is a butoh enactment of the ultimate intention of Fudo Myou, the dharmapala who is considered the wrathful manifestation of Dainichi Nyorai, the Cosmic Buddha and central deity in Shingon Buddhism. Fudo Myou is often depicted holding a flaming sword, which is said to slice through delusion and ignorance. While on the path to meet Fudo Myou's ultimate intention, Evan and Glenn may have gotten turned around and subsequently find themselves completely lost in some kind of stoner dream of their innermost delusions.

FUDO (gorno & suzuki) was presented as part of Not Your Mother’s Pan-Asian Festival 2 on October 8, 2022 and at Corlears Hook Park (NYC, NY).
