Design

Glenn Potter-Takata creates sound and video designs for live performance. His designs and production work have been featured in performances at Mabou Mines, Chocolate Factory Theater, Dixon Place, Abrons Art Center, Coffey Street Studios, New York City Children's Theater, and in various downtown venues around NYC. Glenn currently serves as Media Supervisor for the Theatre and Dance Departments at Sarah Lawrence College, where he also teaches the Sound Design and Video & Media Design classes.

Sound

Glenn's sound compositions utilize a combination of field recordings, found sound, synthesizers, and no input mixing to juxtapose and layer sounds from natural environments with the synthetic or artificial. His designs for plays extend the scenic environment of the world of the play into the aural, creating an immersive experience for the viewer/listener.

Video

Glenn's video designs construct environments that incorporate livefeed video, appropriated media, and outdated technology to create familiar yet alien visuals. Glenn’s integrated use of video articulates and emphasizes the liveness of a performance, with moving images intended to support the overall vision of a work.
